We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Medical Records Assistant to support our legal and case management teams. This individual will play a key role in ensuring timely and accurate collection and tracking of medical records, assisting with health insurance claims, and facilitating communication with medical providers.
Key Responsibilities
- Initiate and follow up on requests for medical records from various healthcare providers via phone, email, fax, or online portals.
- Coordinate with subpoena services to obtain medical records when required.
- Open health insurance claims as needed for case support and tracking purposes.
- Contact medical providers and billing departments to confirm outstanding balances and request itemized bills or payment histories.
- Maintain accurate logs of all requests and responses, ensuring deadlines are met and follow-up task.
Qualifications and Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in personal injury case management or similar legal support role.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a client-first attitude.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in case management software and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Familiarity with medical terminology and treatment processes.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) highly preferred.
